There is one Tweak tool which you can use to try out some conventional menu along with dash. With the help of tweak tool you can mold your desktop as per your liking. This tool is very handy for GNOME 3. Tweak tool can help you to change the icon appearance if you don't like it so actually there are many things which you can change with this tool.
Many user believe that using Ubuntu GNOME their desktop become so empty and they dislike it. Even if we try to download any software the icon of that application will not come in desktop so over-all yes it do become empty but still there are many themes in internet which you can try to make it much cooler but still its your choice.

Even though Firefox browser is your default browser but many people believe that Googe Chrome is much better so for them they can download it Chromium web Browser but still Firefox is not that bad according to me.
In Ubuntu GNOME you can choose to change the skin of Ubuntu GNOME by right clicking on log in button when login page appears at starting. By right clicking on log in button you can choose GNOME Classic view to change it to classic view or simply GNOME.
If we run Ubuntu GNOME after installing it then there are so many application which you can use and if it comes to accessing your social networking site then it can easily be done.
The social networks supported are: Google, OwnCloud, Facebook and many more.
There are many people who come from Windows to Linux have one problem. Which is that they won't be able to play game of .exe extension or they wont be able to run those files. But still you can run some of the .exe application using Wine which is really a great application. I have tried playing many games with Wine application and it works great.
But still Ubuntu GNOME support few games like Secret Maryo Chronicles which you can download from here and it is really a great game with ratings of 5/5 in SourceForge.

- And if it comes to boot time then Ubuntu 14.10 is much faster than Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 but with latest upgrade it is improved a lot.

2. Notification : The best thing which I really liked about Ubuntu GNOME was the notification feature which was really less interrupting but in the latest release of GNOME 3.16 there notification it is quickly accessible by pop-ups banners.
What's difference is that in previous version (GNOME 3.10.4) the notification came from downwards but in GNOME 3.16 it will be a pop-ups banners which will be easily visible and accessible.
3. Calendar : In previous versions of GNOME (GNOME 3.10.4) the calendar was pretty simple with only simple options but in latest release of GNOME 3.16 the layout of calendar is completely changed. It has now event menu added and with world clock area where you can see the time of different countries.

5. Visuals : And yes after this update we are pretty sure that they have updated visual as well. So this time they have little bit added new feature in activities area and with new login screen and system menus with other system components as well. And its also worth noticing that there are now new preview application which have changed a lot. For example calendar application with new simple look and book with new e-book application with new looks and many more are there.
So overall the latest update cover-up all the negative points and made this a better version from the previous one.
